Cliff, I've read your book, I know you are the Yoda of carbs. I know you watch this board. I totally understand if you don't want to get involved, or don't respond to this. Please look at my other post in the carb section with pics. One question, seeing as I'm being lied to. Is that a correct Buick pulloff for a 7040240 carb, or not. I know it will work, but it's pointed out and doesn't have a slotted arm because it's wrong...right? There's absolutely no way you can turn that to the right position, right? Thanks in advance for you knowledge and help. I give you my word I won't speak of this again.

    From his previous reply..

I'm here now and will address the secondary pull-off issue for the early Buick units. They original pull-offs were slotted for the link, not a round hole and the vacuum fitting was correctly oriented to point toward the fitting in the rear of the baseplate for the vacuum supply hose.

Bad news is that they are NLA, and haven't been for some time. The suppliers are sending the 1970-74 Cadillac and 71-72 Pontiac front pull-offs instead. They will work fine but the vacuum supply is not correctly oriented so plan on either pointing it outboard or inboard and bending it if/as needed.

    ---------------

Not sure how many times we need to cover this.. Cliff has an NOS one, step up with the big bucks and buy that, if you have to have the OE one.
