Am very pleased with my Everyday Performance prepped 800 cfm qjet. Cranked right up straight out of the box. Idles just perfect, didn't even adjust the idle mix. Handled the 7.5 psi dyno pump's fuel pressure just fine. After a few pulls and changing the sec rods to AX and opening the air door to 1.240" it made 586 hp and 603 ft-lb, only 9 hp behind a Holley 950 HP ultra. The dyno operator who only does race motors was blown away (he initially looked at the motor and said "what's it gonna make, about 440 and be all done by 4800 rpm?)
Everyday Performance (Ken) is A+ on everything he does. Top notch in every way. I had him rebuild a Q-jet. Installed it on the car and it would not idle. Called on a Sunday for tech help and he picked up the phone! Quickly diagnosed the issue as a bad base gasket causing a massive vacuum leak. Ken is my #1 guy for carbs and distributors.
