Cheap TH400

    You have to shift it yourself ALL the time. I think that is going to get old REALLY fast on the street. When it gets rebuilt, change the valve body.

    not sure how big your motor is going to be, but I would research putting in a 32 element sprag when you do or have the transmission done......it will require a different direct drum, the one in there should be a roller sprag. it works but it's not as strong

    Going to a 455. 450-500hp Same torque ballpark.

    I've seen you post about a 34 element sprag. Trying to make this baby bulletproof.

    Old thread, I know, but I’m wanting to swap out from manual shift in my T400 to an automatic shift again. Do I just need to swap to a new valve body to get auto shifts back or can I just buy a new/different “shift kit”? Maybe these are questions best left to a local trusted shop?
