    Guys,
I am considering reproducing the Correct Ram Air Foam Seals for the 69-71 350 and 455 Gran Sports. The originals are getting hard to find and are rather expensive to boot.

If I do these they would be a Concours correct part, and would probably be made from the yellow foam, like the originals.

I am trying to gauge the interest for this part, so your input, either for or against would be helpful.

So let me know what you think.

    Sorry Brad,
I already made a set of them, but they were too wide to fit on the regular cars. I could always paint a set pink, if you want a set for the 71 car!

PS. I would appreciate it if you let me know when the cars show up. Thanks.

    Duane-

I have an NOS set if you'd like to use as models. I would definitely be interested in a set of repros too!

    Ken,
Thanks but I have a few sets I can use for models.

The current incorrect repro's sell in the $25-$30 range while the Originals go around $125.00 a pair. The goal is to cut the price of the originals in half, and sell the repros in the $60-$70 range. I will check into the parts volume needed to do this. (I don't want to fill up my garage with ram air foams.)

As far as the 72's, the original triangular foam was angled on the 350 cars, not straight like the repros. I don't know if the 455's were the same or not, but this would mean another mold. I will see how this project goes, and then look at the 72 foams.

    Guys,
Let me know what you think about the $60-$70 price range. If that price is OK then I can figure out the volume of parts needed to get there.

    Duane,

Let me know (when the time comes) if you need a triangular one, I have a couple NOS one's here.

    Great idea, by the way!!

    Brett,
Do you have 350 or 455 foams, you can tell by the heights, the 350 foams are taller. Maybe you could post a picture here, hint hint.

I would definitely want at least 1 pair - maybe two for 1971

    Duane,

I'll take some pics tomorrow. I'm pretty sure they're the taller 350 ones.

Duane, that price not a concern in the majority of cars we do here.

Duane, you know I'd rather go this route, than the current repos.
Not only are the NOS getting hard to get, after paying high dollar, I have to cut them down.

    I'm all for them!!!

Based on the NOS prices you mentioned,
and knowing they can tend to be brittle with age, combined that mostly 350 is what you find in NOS, there would be a lot of advantages to correct repos.
Heck, I know everytime I try to cut an NOS 350 down to fit a 455, I always screw it up. Using 2 to make one correct
    even ads to the cost.

    Thanks, Jeff
