Custom flat tappet cam, turbo application

    Here’s my cam card for the custom Scotty Brown cam. I gave him my preliminary alum head flow numbers of 300 intake etc. It’s still fairly mild, using 10:1 compression now and will likely go to larger turbos. 4.56 gears, 4000 stall converter, trans brake, billet 2004R trans.

    Sean, 10 to 1 !, you must be planning on running on E85?

    Yes it’s a E-85 engine. We tested the modified for E-85 Holley on a friends LS and it made over 1000 rear wheel HP, it’s amazing what that fuel can do. Very detonation resistant and cool burning.

    Sean, did you always plan on building with a flat tappet or where you wanting a roller cam? Thats a lot durasion lol , figure good street strip cam would have around James duration with more lift like a V6. Good info

    Yes I wanted to stay flat tappet on this one and I don’t care too much about the street manners anymore. I was more interested in taking advantage of the alum heads potential without the roller cam issues.

    I have a huge roller cam that I will use in a 13+:1 compression 350, have a bunch of big cams to try in that one.
