I was wondering if a 70 GS bumper could be substituted for a 72 GS bumper (mainly what is the differnce in the two.)

    Front bumpers...

They are completely different. A 1970 bumper 'dips down' in the middle, between the driver side/passenger side headlights. 1971-1972 bumpers go straight across.

Grilles and hood moldings are different as well. You'll have a better chance of interchanging '71 and '72 front bumpers.

    Rear bumpers...
As long as you're not looking for 'correctness', or the car is not entering any concours competitions, all three ('70 - '72) will interchange.

    Matt,
The 70 bumber will bolt onto the 72, but the only problem that you will have is the gas tank neck.
The 70 license plate is down low, where the 71 and 72 license plates are somewhat in the middle, so when you have to put gas in the car you may run into a little trouble with the neck.

I should know, I have a 71 bumber on my 70 skylark, just until I find a really nice one for the right price.:Brow:
