Try Convertible Specialist in Inverness, Florida. This guy was very very informative and used Electron tops that are made in the USA. What for the China ****. I got a kit with all the pads, cables, etc and a glass window for $449. The guy spent a half an hour explaining stuff to me plus other phone calls I made to him. Is he better than the above mentioned? I don't know but all I will say he is pretty good to deal with.

About 45 min. south of the airport off I-85. I'm near the Hogansville exit.

Sorry I haven't been following the forum like I should.

I've run into a problem...the right way to do it is to transfer the stapling spots from the old top to the new one. Problem is that my old top was in such bad shape (pieces flying off) that I didn't bother keeping it, though the transfer couldn't take place anyway.

I got as far as stapling the front of the rear curtain which went fine but I don't see how you go about stapling the outside edges of the rear curtain to the bottom/rear tack strip. You can remove the rear bow and staple it for the most part but it needs to be in the car so you can stretch it into place, but you can't get a staple gun into the curved part...hard to explain but it's like the rear quarters have to come off the car, and it's the big blind spot in the top that I'm talking about.

It seems at least in my case that pro installation will be needed

Your going to have to hold it in what ya think is the right place mark it with some chalk. Pop in a couple staples and see how it fits, adjust as needed. I'm lucky to have enough left to transfer marks but I'm sure I'll be making some adjustments too. Plan is to start installing this weekend.

Took four hours this weekend just to get the rear curtain in . Position, staple install. Remove, reposition and reinstall. Repeat as needed. The hard part is for an old overweight and out of shape guy to climb in and out to get into position. A young guy could cut the time in half. I'm going to buy an air wrench to help complete the job. $30-$40 will cut down the time and wore out arm factor, lot of bolts hold it in.

That bolt is a bitch Im surprised the GM geniuses couldnt just reverse the bolt .Air wrench wont fit back there I use a gear wrench with swivel type head.

F14 what top are you using ?All the top manufatures Kee's, Electron etc chalk mark the tops for alignment to the bows and trim stick theres no need to match up staple marks . You have to take that bow out a few times to get it nice and tight ...it even takes the pros a few time to get it right.

99% done. Came out real nice, except. Positioned the window too low or the top too high. Have 1/4 inch of the plastic window border showing at the back. Other than that I'm happy with it. About the time I was going to give up and live with it, most everything fell into place. The window problem didn't show up till we stapled the front and latched her down. I'd do another one.
