    Hi
I am in the process of a 1st engine startup and my diy rebuilt ( quadrajet.com kit) qjet pukes fuel out of the bowl.
I took it of to see if needle and seats are stuck but it looks ok.
I cleaned her up and put her back on with the same result.

    Bad rebuild?
    Or
TIMING issue? I heard the timing can cause that and since it's a 1st startup it could make sense.
    Any leads?

Likely the float is set too high.

Crossed ignition wires might cause a spurt or splash/spray of fuel up out of the primary bore but would not cause an overfilling overflowing problem.

More likely float level or needle and seat issues. It looks like the carb Is overflowing out the accelerator pump hole. Looks like an overfilling issue.

My new book has a chapter on troubleshooting common issues post-rebuild.

What is your fuel pressure? Is the float too heavy?

i dont think its crossed wires since it stared and ran for 20 seconds before when pouring gas down the vent and no FP working at that time

If your running the engine fuel pump . Squeeze off the supply line to the pump with some long needle nose pliers , start it up and right before the engine dies from no fuel release the pliers . If it was a piece of dirt on the needle and seat the sudden surge of fuel should dislodge it .

Its something to try before removing the carb again .
