Now that electric cars are a common thing, is electric air conditioning for our cars an option yet? I'd really like to have AC on my non-AC car but I don't want to fool with all the brackets and drive stuff. If I could mount a compressor somewhere convenient, that would really make life simpler, even if I did have to upgrade the alternator and some wiring. Anyone considered this?
I've played with the idea for a non a/c car. Once had a Bug and that was the biggest reason we didnt drive it much. 2 stinking hot!
so a electric motor spinning and attached to the compressor should make it work. just need to match the torque and rpm of the belt drive.
