After the race I sent to TX DMV for any info they might have on my A4 A12 Runner. After receiving the info last Friday I have found, phone called and had a visit from the original owner! He and his son came yesterday to see the car and we went for a spin. Great guy and some cool back in the day stories. Of course he has tried to buy it back as it was his 1st new car, a car his dad bought for him as a 17yo high school senior.

That's pretty cool -- I have a Texas car, and I'd love to trace its ownership history. Does the Texas DMV have a form or process for this type of request?

    Thanks!

No he didn't. Listened to my message twice before he called his wife to tell her. Then he called me.

:TU: Thanks for the information and TX Form Number, Lon. I have a 1964 Studebaker Daytona Wagonaire (the sliding roof model) delivered new in Temple TX that I went down there to get two years ago.

I'd love to have the provenance. 'Gonna check it out!

    Again, Many Thanks. BP

I really didn't expect to find out anything with the privacy laws in place since 9/11. Was also told that a lot of info has been lost due to a fire. Good luck with your search's! I hope they turn out as good as mine did :TU: How if I could find a vintage River Oakes C/P license plate frame to put on the car.

Where was River Oakes C/P located, Lon? And is it spelled Oakes or Oaks?

'Reason I ask: I know one of the principals of River Oaks Ford in suburban Chicagoland, and I think they owned other dealerships as well. If you know the River Oakes (Oaks?) C/P dealership was in suburban Chicago, I'll give you his information and you can contact him to see if he has any older license plate frames. :) BP
