TexasT Texas, where are you from

Only two kinds of money problems. Too little, and too much.

I'm guessing this guy or his sponsor is in the later.

Vintage race car from the 80's... and you risk exactly this when you take them out of the museum, and put them back on the track.

Remember, boys and girls, when that turbo comes on, it increases like supercritical mass.

Owner/Driver are probably embarrassed, thats probably why they want the vid removed:p
Oh well, nobody was hurt, car got smashed, the guy has deep pockets, if he wanted his car to stay in pristine condition, he shoulda left it in his garage, museum, air bubble or whatever:rolleyes: It IS cool how it broke apart, the driver "capsule" protected him as designed, so THAT part of the car still "worked" So actually it was a GREAT day racing!

Wow, thats alot of damage seeing how slow he was going.......wonder how much real driving skills the guy has.

Go around a corner by yourself at 30-40 mph.....get fully straight........start to throttle up, you can hear the turbo just kick in, it starts to walk the dog, and he never let's off........??????

I think someone is used to driving cars with traction control and all that new stuff......I know I've had my car step out on me at a much faster speed than this.....

Sucks for a rare car.....I dont feel bad for the guy with lack of driving skills

As long as the driver is ok the rest means nothing as far as I'm concerned, if the owner wanted to gamble on his high dollar car being wrecked, so be it!

I saw a big ticket Ferrari race car flip at Summit Point. The owner was adamant about no one taking pictures. I was told that it has to do with resale. If you can document the car was wrecked it drives the price way down.

I agree with you lots of damage for a low MPH crash. I cant imagine what would be left had he been able to get to top speed.

I hope he at least got a couple laps in before this incident occurred.

I also hope he wasn't borrowing it from a friend for the day...

Years ago, Jen and I drove her 86 Mustsng down to the 50th anniversary of the Mustang at Charlotte motor speedway. She signed up to open track the car while we were there.

This rig pulls up with a trailer behind it. Truck and trailer were painted the same with the running horse graphics extending to the trailer. Out of the trailer comes a brand new at the time Saleen convertible. Naturally painted the same color. The Saleen guy signed up for the open track as well

So they have this big driver meeting and the officials tell everyone to take it easy for the first few laps. Get to know the track, get a feel for your car, get the tires up to temp...etc.

First turn of the first lap- Saleen guy spins out, knocks the front nose right off the car and smashes the ass end into the gaird rail. It was horrific. They had to red flag the track and clean up all the debris. I distinctly remember picking up the headlight assemblies off the ground.

I went to the a local asphalt circle track back in the 90s with some family on vacation. The pace car was a new Monte Carlo. I can't remember the exact year but it was a brand new fwd turd. I think it was some special Earnhardt edition. Anyway the driver went through the speedy dry after a wreck, lost it and slammed into the wall pretty hard.. I remember the announcer saying "holy $hit!!". The car was on loan from the local Chevy dealer! It needed to be towed away. The whole right side was smashed in.
