There is a guy from Michigan that has a 430 4-bolt main complete engine that is going to try and have his motor on display at Bowling Green.
Hopefully Denny Manner can shine some light on that too.

Mr. Manner did drive a 525 BBB in a 72 Electra and have heard he loved it. Wondering this is the same story?

Here’s a picture of the first Kenne Bell oil pump Cover and pump, KB doubled up the stock size oil gears Great idea at the time although it played hell on the timing cover the shaft an the cam bearings. This was on my stage one when I bought it back in 1983 had crazy oil pressure would shoot oil over the fenders while trying to adjust the valves, CA55BC49-AAA0-4E96-AA4B-6364E57640DC.jpeg CA55BC49-AAA0-4E96-AA4B-6364E57640DC.jpeg 64D78780-4665-41F5-815B-C1B349FDB881.jpeg

That is a great set of pics and the first time I ever saw one. Tony said he had oiling problems until he did that set- up. He also drilled out the oil passages and did a few other changes. Then he had no problems with the oiling.

    PS,
When you guys talk to Denny get him to tell you about the time the guys put a BB in his car to test it and didn’t put any oiling holes in the crank.

I also think they did this to him twice.

The original owner installed it on the car, I have no clue how many miles he put it. Not too long after I bought the car I was racing it on JFK Boulevard in South Philly and develop a rod knock. I took the motor apart and discovered issues with number 7 an 8 rod bearing an the CAM bearings wiped out. The engine still showed no signs of oil pressure loss. The set up probably work great for a race car but not for a street driven GS.
