I polished the original tail light lenses with McGuire PlastX then used it on the surrounds to polish the black. I touched up the corners with color right color coat GMW/883 semi black. It’s hard to find the correct black trim paint I have some Sem black but it’s too gray and dull.
Color right GMW/883 is a dead on match for NOS blacked out moldings. I’m sure Sem has the correct color but they have 10 different blacks and not much on description of the colors. two gray and too dull.
I used trim black for the headlight bezels and am happy with the results, but I agree it’s too dull in my opinion. My original tail lights definitely have more of a gloss finish.
Now that the stage 1 is at Nick’s shop I have room to start putting the GN back together anybody who’s owned an 80s regal knows the doors open real wide. Today I just finished up the first paint detail since getting the car back from Nick. The body on restoration turned out phenomenal.
Finally making some serious progress on the GN it’s amazing what a little bit more room can do. Installed doorhandles door locks, NOS belt moldings, quarter glass, NOS T roof moldings.
Finally found some time to get back to the GN today. Today working on the T-Top roof frame Taking care of some minor rust issues using Eastwood rust encapsulator black will topcoat with Sem satin black. View attachment 574250
The other day I tried to install the door seals which were Metro, can you say effing junk not even close to be able to close the doors. Had to laugh, I read on the Internet that they suggest you re-adjust the door hinges if there worn. That’s not my problem the problem is the seals are junk.
So I did some research on the Internet seems as though metro is the only seal with the correct ends so I decided to try and modify the ones I have seems to have fixed the problem.
