    20210511_135426.jpg Hello folks,
I have never seen my car or anything comparable up close with carpet installed. How high should it go up the firewall? Just under the speedo cable grommet, or cut the carpet to go up around it? I am guessing cut.

When I redid my carpet, I got it up as high as I could on the firewall, which is a little higher than in your picture. Mine is about 2 inches below the bottom of the fuse block, which I think puts it the same distance below the speedo grommet. I don't know what a concours-correct placement would be.

In my 1968s there is also a bit that covers the top of the carpet and gives it a finished look? I have posted an example below?

I always lay the rear chunk of carpet in to make sure I get enough overlap. Don’t glue any thing until you’re sure of placement. Forward and aft as well as side to side.

Much easier to move unglued carpet than after it is stuck down!

I don't think I used any glue? I think I just layed it in and then fastened the seats and trim bits. It was the pre molded kind of carpet, so it just sat there. The original carpet had no glue either.

I didn't glue mine either. It pretty much stays put with the seats and sill plates attached, like Max said.
