OK all of you corner burners. How do you keep your radiator from moving around? Sound silly? It's not. When using electric fans (no shroud) there isn't much to hold your radiator from moving side to side. I have used a heavy foam, actually cut from an old swim noodle. It's not pretty, but it is working temporarily.

I am thinking about an older design bolt in radiator, but there must be other options for me as well.

    Anyone?

    Andrew,
I do not think I have this problem. Cannot move my radiator by hand and am just using the stock rubber with the groves that match the radiator. I use an electric fan set with a shroud but the shroud does not touch the radiator (.25 clearance) My radiator is huge (5 core brass) may be to heavy to move!

Doesn't the top cover that the top of the radiator sits under bolt to the core support?

Yes, but all that the top cover really does is hold the two top rubber saddles. Without the fan shroud, it isn't really effective. The radiator can slide right out of the mounts.

I am sure that yours is heavier to move than mine. It has been a while since I used a mechanical fan, but I seem to remember that the shroud sat between the two tanks, and therefore would keep the radiator from moving side to side too much. Also, the shroud helps keep the top radiator cover down, keeping pressure on the two top rubber mounts. Without the shroud the top cover tends to be too weak to keep the top rubber mounts tightly held against the radiator.
