Generator stays on

New harness inside and out, generator light stays on with car running, switched out voltage reg with one off my car no luck. Took new alt to have it check and it’s good, where do I go now? It’s a 70 GS 455 no air

 

The test they do in the auto parts store is basically meaningless. Does the light go out when you rev it?

 

No

 

Does the light come on when key is in run position not running? If not, you have a bad fuse

 

I had a similar problem when I used a big car light switch on my GS.
