I had Goodyear Polygas G60-15 snow tires for mine. When was the last time you saw a set of those?

IMG_0471.jpeg Well, I most definitely do not have a dog in this fight! But… I did buy what appears to be a brand new 1972 studded spare tire for $25 at the Nationals one year. Sometime soon, because I’m going to sell my one tire fire 69 Skylark, I am going to do a big Sparky burnout at night. I think that would be fun, and when I do it I’ll add the picture to this thread.

Mine was my daily driver in 1985. Hey, it was only a 15 year old car at the time

That has to be at least from the mid to late 1980's. That level of 'siping' was not around in '72.

I'll give my self a Claven for this...

timesublime, I’ll go check it out tomorrow in the daylight. It does say Briggstone on it. I don’t know about those other fancy words because I’ve never lived up north and never dealt with snow tires. The guy told me it was out of his 72 gran sport. What year was the tire? I don’t know, but I’ll check the date code tomorrow. Anyway, I’ve never done a Sparky burn out, and I’ll bet it will do one. Put a little water in the road although I can do a burnout without water in the road. I think it will be cool looking!

My only knowledge of snow tires. My wife to be, maybe 17 and I was 19, went to visit some friends in Columbus Ohio. It snowed about 6 inches overnight. We were going back to Cincinnati first thing in the morning. She said she would drive because I’ve never driven in the snow. She got us stuck at the first intersection. I told her to get out and get in the passenger seat. I never drove in snow before, but I sure have driven in sugar sand and mud, and they’re pretty much the same thing as snow. We made it back to Cincinnati safely . Crazy woman driver!

Winter? Bah humbug! I planted 48 tomato plants today and about the same number of okra plants. I’m planning on going on a healthy diet after the new year. Fried green tomatoes, fried okra, fried baby portobello mushrooms, but I don’t know how to grow them so I have to buy them. Fried cheese sticks. I don’t know how to grow those either. Hell, fried everything. We only go around once in life!
    Oh yeah, and Sparky burnouts!

My first car was a 71 Skylark 4 door with the straight 6. Very, very rusty even in 1981 but it would still do great sparky burnouts with my studded snow tires.
