Just an update, the headers I bought from jcwhitney.com turned out to be for small block Chevys. Back to the sea4ch for proper fitting headers. LOL

69 Riv=shorties from TA end of story unless like mention by Briz you build your own but let's face it why would you endure all that stress and tool throwing to try and figure out the routing of all the pipes to save a $100 when you can spend the extra coin, bolt them on and stand back and enjoy a cold beer :) just sayin'

Id really love to have some cool custom long tube headers on the Riv. Pulled the engine and trans yesterday. Considering sending the headers out to be jet hot coated.

Longtubes would be sweet on our cars but unfortunately we'd need a 4" lift kit for road clearance as the tubes and exhaust would have to go under the X-frame we are cursed with :(. I want to get my shorties coated eventually too, just waiting for when I do the engine swap that way it will be easier with the engine out like you are doing :)

Looking at my headers today as I put the engine on the stand. Thinking I can heat the areas between the tubes in front of the center bolt and make a path to make that part of the job so much easier. Road Kill did a show where they practically beat the tubes closed and didnt lose any power so Why not? Carefully drained all the fluids. Caught nearly every drop of that waterless coolant. @ 50.00 a gal I dont wanna buy any more.

Briz, are you saying you have a set of longtubes mocked up now and with a bit of massaging they might actually fit?
