I have seen cars with white interior and some have white headliners others have black. I have heard that sometime in 71 the white interiors got black headliners was trying to figure out if this is correct.
My '71 GS has the pearl white interior. The dash, carpet, and kick panels are black. Door panels, seats, and headliner are white.
In this post efogs400 has a pic of a white interior with black headliner. https://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/70-gs-455-body-tag-decode.362592/ Not sure what year this car is though.
Based on his descriptions, I would assume it is a '72. Mine is an April-built '71 with a white headliner. It's still original, too.
It sounds like later '71 cars switched over to the black headliner even with the white interior? Seems like a Duane question...
This is the 71 Sales book. Says it should be white. this is documented that is should be white. Unless someone comes up with documentation black was used I win in court.
I owned a 1970 Malibu with white interior (bucket seats). The headliner was black. Curious as to the other a-body headliner colour with white interiors.
