On my 68 SkylarkCustom350 I’m trying to change the HVAC cables but I’m not sure if there is is 2 or 3 cables. The heat & defrost cables ( Red and Blue ) are clearly labeled on the unit but can’t find another cable attachment point. I have a chassis manual that only shows blue & red. My vehicle only had originally 2 cables. The set I’ve ordered from Vintage Air has 3 . I’ve also read discussions mentioning a green cable.. Is there a third cable and where does it mount?Any and all help is welcomed

Most likely that's the one closest to the driver's side, up on the top of the heater box.

I just put mine back together today and it absolutely sucked.

It's almost easier to access it with the box detached from the firewall.

Brett I knew the only correct way was to take out the unit. Inspecting the ducts- lines & hoses to see what might be missing and get a grasp on their attaching and routing was not easy for a large guy with large hands. A few vacuum lines were loose, the fan switch needed changing and the pass side duct was MIA. Only the blue & red cables were there, tabs on both broken can’t find anything in the manual to show where the 3rd cable goes. Maybe someone who has rehabbed the HVAC on a 68 Skylark can chime in with some thoughts?

I never owned a 68 A body with the thumb wheel controls. I have a 68 Riv but thats a different animal....

What I think is that you only have two cables- red and blue. The later A/C cars have three cables. The green one is attached to the top of the box roughly behind the radio
