Hello. Just purchased a 70 GS convertible 350 with ac in Long Island NY. Im 61 yo, always had muscle cars but never a Buick. And always wanted a convertible. Came across this one with a lot of luck. The guy I bought it from was just flipping it. He told me that it was all done up as a GS, that it wasn't real as he said that Buick didn't make a GS 350 convertible GS in 70. But the car was too good to pass up. Working ac. Great floors, top, interior. Front discs. Really decent paint. Met Larry (real) 70 GS at a local car show last night and he told me all about BuickV8. He also told me everything that was cool and not cool about my car. I'm doing this on my phone so if I put in a stupid photo that's why. In any case. I know that it's not real. I don't care. Hope you guys don't. I'm planning on doing a lot to get this Buick much better. Looking forward to connecting. Thx for listening.
Wow what a beautiful car!! So exited for you !! Really love the look of yours. Larry is legendary, he has already helped me so much and long with @sean Buick 76 and countless others. So much knowledge here it’s amazing.
Welcome from Florida! Larry is the man when it comes to the technical help on these cars. That is beautiful, love the color. I see why you couldn't pass it up!
Welcome, very nice car. Do not worry, that it is not the real thing. What it means to you, is all that matters.
Welcome from Central Florida. There are lots of "Tribute" GSs on this site so, nothing to apologize for. You have a really nice example there. Enjoy it.
Welcome - Nice looking car! There was a board member in NJ selling a very nice '70 convertible done up as a GS a few years ago - I'm wondering if this is the same car. I'll have to see if I can find the ad.
Thanks. Heres a couple. Wrong console. And where one of the previous owners got those seat covers, I can't even guess. If anyone out there sees this and has a correct console for sale, I'm all ears
Cool. Thanks!! I have the bench with the fold down armrest. Which is what I wanted because, 35 years later, my wife and I still like to hold hands while I drive...and it's more comfortable. -MIG
Beautiful! Meeting Larry was nice and i'm sure you learned alot! in the short time you might have talked. I see it also has 1971 GS hood scoops that are made from plastic. They do look good though
Thanks. Those 71 scoops are going. They're on the list along with the master cyl.( which I'm about to replace this afternoon), the shift console, steering box, and some other items. Work in progress for sure !
Welcome, I like the color combo a lot...looks like your car was originally Gulfstream Blue Poly GM paint code 25.
