Hi guys, I'm Tom. I'm new to the site and to Buicks. I have bone stock 72 LeSabre Convertible. I'm planning on turning it into a hot rod cruiser. It has a stock 350. I had the top end done, rebuilt the 2 bbl and all the other things needed to make it run good. But I'm looking to do some upgrades to make a little more fun to drive. Not looking burn the rubber off the tires but I wouldn't mind something that will put you back in the seat. Anyway just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. Looking forward to talking to you and maybe making some friends along the way. Stay safe. Tom
Hey Tom! I’m like 40 minutes south of you in CT. Would love to see your car some day at Marks Classic Cruise in Granby, CT. It’s a massive (750+ car) show that happens every Monday night, when the corona calms down.
Sounds good John. I look forward to meeting you. I've been to marks a couple of times. I really like it.
Sounds good John. I look forward to meeting you. Ya, Springfield is right. Although I'm not bragging about it. Lol
Thanks dragdoc. Well we do have some history here that's for sure. 1st motorized fire dept in the country and Durea motorcar company. And Basketball although I'm not a fan.
I know Tom, that's a really nice museum complex you have there. The guns, Indians, art, Dr. Seuss collection, just lots of cool stuff there.
Welcome to the forum, Tom. I have braved the trip to MA quite a few times, to visit my son and his wife who live in Cambridge. They are finishing their senior year at MIT. There are some good forum members in your neighboring state of Connecticut, as well as other nearby states. A ragtop LeSabre is pretty cool IMO. I used to own a 1971 Riviera GS. If that thing had been a convertible....
Hey Tom. I'm just up the road a bit from you in Hatfield while I try to find another house to buy. Practically neighbors '72 is a good year! I have a spare set of reprint maintenance manuals if you are interested. I'll let them go cheap and no mail cost! Cheers! Bob
Thanks I appreciate the welcome. That's pretty cool, your son and daughter in law both being at MIT. I love the big old rag tops. I can't wait to get the way I want it.
Hey Bob, I appreciate the offer but I already have manuals for it. Thanks. But if you happen to here about any parts for sale let me know. I'd greatly appreciate it. Good luck with your move.
@TMD1972 I'm further East, closer to Boston, in Burlington. There's a lot of folks on the board from the area. In prior years I might have seen you at the New England Car show in Fitchburg (typically a strong turnout) but not sure that's happening this year ;-( https://www.newenglandautoshows.com/event/ma-fitchburg-early-ford-v8-clube-swap-meet-2/
