I need one of those cups! A few time a year we will go on trips with my wife's sister and her husband. Due to our work schedules we are both early risers, 7am is sleeping in. I will be sitting there catching up on my computer stuff (Facebook, forums, emails...) eating my toast with peanut butter and a Diet Mt. Dew. She will sit down and talk, blab, blab, blab...99% I couldn't give a sh!t about, but too nice to tell her to shut up.
Wow, I’ve got some serious news. It’s 12:36 AM Eastern standard time and I have a smile from ear to ear. Of course I’ve been drinking to celebrate. I have heard from very close sources that the Penguins might only come down here for three weeks. My ulcer already went away, and my blood pressure is back to normal! Excuse me, I just got back from getting a beer out of the fridge raider again. Oh thank heaven for 711. Wow, that’s all I have to say. More tomorrow I am sure. I The hyena is here right now, I believe for the next week. He brought me the most awesome news!!!! Oh yes, I forgot about the Up North people, and the really up north people. We went out boating tonight. I only put on sweatpants because I’ve had the North Korean flu for the last week. (Some serious shivers, but it kept the beer cold in my belly!) I think my son gave it to me. After I got rid of my fever then I started to poop my pants. Yesterday really sucked. But I am still smiling from the news above this. We’re going boating tomorrow in my sons boat to watch a Christmas parade on the intercoastal waterway. I’ll make sure I have pictures

Good morning Buick fans that love penguins, or love a fellow Buick enthusiast that has trouble with penguins. It’s getting close to that time. I already had a visit last weekend from their grandson. It was more than enough to get me ready for February. My wife picked up the grandson of the Penguins at the airport. My son and I were already out in the lake on a boat. My wife stopped at little Caesars to pick up two pizzas that I ordered, and paid for. All she had to do was go in the store, punch in the magic code, and take the two pizzas out of the oven. Of course she complained. “Why do I have to stop at the store and get the pizzas?“ Really? We got a big old 4 door, long bed truck and a big boat behind the truck and we’re gonna go into that little pizza parking lot. Sometimes I think she really doesn’t think. A chip off the old penguin wing if you ask me. So little penguin and the grandson show up at the boat ramp. We idle into the middle of the lake, stop the boat, and dig into the pizza. Here’s the first problem. I got my pizza out of the pizza box, and close the pizza box up nice and tight to keep the heat in. I even made a remark that I hate people that take their slice of pizza and leave the box open for the pizza to get cold. You probably already guessed what happened. Yes, the little little penguin, who was right behind me and definitely heard what I said, left the pizza box open! That just pisses me off. It’s just as bad as DA people (Her family)that don’t close the cooler all the way and then wonder why the ice melted so fast. The weekend only got better. Sarcasm This little little penguin likes to follow me around like he is glued to me. We’re drinking some beer on the picnic table in my backyard after we got home from the boat ride I walked to the edge of the backyard to take a leak. Would you believe he followed me right to the bushes? I said, Dude! I’m taking a leak! Oh We go for a boat ride on Saturday. My son lets little little penguin drive the boat. A buddy of ours is trolling with his fishing line out the back. Little little penguin constantly drove the boat close to the shoreline even through the turns of the river. My son told him, Jose is back there fishing and you keep getting his line all caught up in the bushes. More “Oh.” Even after being scolded for driving close to the shoreline he continued doing that. It was a very cold day, especially towards the end of the day. I asked him to drive on the left side of the river where the sun was shining instead of driving in the shade. All he did was give it more gas and continued on his path in the shade. I really think he is so focused on driving the boat that he is not listening to you even though he appears to be listening to you. My son and I were right behind him making faces at each other and laughing our butts off. Flat out unbelievable. Oh yeah, I almost forgot. So the boat we were on is a borrowed pontoon boat. Little penguin and my son are talking about ways to reconfigure the seating to make the boat more comfortable. There is clearly a couch chair on the starboard side of the boat in front of the console. There’s a gate to get on and off the boat on the port side. Little penguin asks my son, “Is there a gate behind the couch?” I about sh*t myself from laughing so hard! Why on earth would a boat manufacturer put a gate behind a seat? Some thing about her family and no common sense!
Oh yeah, the date when they are coming? I don’t really know. All I’ve heard is February for the last three weeks, and I’m scared to ask when they were getting here. I just signed up for pharmaceuticals on my Medicare insurance. I’m pretty sure my primary care doctor would give me Valium to make it through the three weeks, but my buddy Busch light will help me through it all. The air conditioners in my house… first the main central air broke. To solve that problem I put our hurricane window shaker in the kitchen window and it cooled off that part of the house just fine. It didn’t have a heat strip though. I really enjoyed the cold winter days when the house would get below 65°, and the penguins would just stare at me as though I could come up with some type of magic act and warm up the house. I loved seeing them cold! Then the second central air conditioning unit broke in the new part of the house. I bought a bigger window shaker for that part of the house. Kept it nice and cold in my opinion, but again it didn’t have a heat strip. We don’t do heat in South Florida. Only AC! I told my wife I had to tear the kitchen closet apart to get the old air handler out of the closet. She asked me what was stopping me. I said, YOUR PARENTS!!!! I’m really gonna tear down all this drywall and the associated dust, and have your parents walking in and out of the kitchen making an even bigger mess and tracking it through the house. Unfortunately in a couple hours both of the AC units will have been replaced and they both have heat strips. I don’t care how cold it gets outside, when they get here I am not turning my house into a bird rookery! Can’t wait to watch them suffer!
Somehow I'm a thinkin' you are the only Buick enthusiast that has trouble with penguins, unless the zookeeper and Antarctic contingents on the board want to correct me on this.
Steve, how the heck are you? I believe you are absolutely wrong. If you go way way way back to the beginning of this thread there were lots and lots of people complaining about their in-laws. There were even people complaining about their son-in-law’s, and their sons. I believe all of us have a family member, or members that drive us up the wall.
Not me -- 100% hunky-dory with all extended family members. Love them all. (Just wrote that because I think they are watching me.)
I know you don’t, but I love it when the penguins show up. It’s one of the things that helps me get thru the winter. Keep up the good reporting……. Duane
Not for your stress level, but for the entertainment, I've been looking forward to Penguin season. Ya know... it's pretty easy to open the air handler front cover and disconnect the heat strips. Just in case someone decides to go over your head about it...
I love men in Black! In about three weeks I’m gonna want to be hit with one of those neutralizer things! It’ll make everything go back to normal.
