So I managed to push the PCV grommet down into the intake manifold when rebuilding. The IM is sealed, in place. Is there a trick to getting it out, I can see it, or am I totally screwed and have to take the manifold off??

As long as you can see it, it will come out. Hook it with something.

Please also allow into the club guys who didn't leave dipstick clearance in the oil pan baffle. Just sayin'.

Ha yeah it could definitely be worse. The one time I wish something dropped into a bad place to be was metal. No magnets for this issue.

Your not a real Buick guy if you haven't-

Pushed the pcv grommet into the intake

Finished a timing chain job and looked at your tool cart only to see the oil slinger sitting there

Got all the skin removed from your knuckles by the fan trying to adjust dwell

As said above, I used a wire coat hanger made into a hook. When I got it to the hole, I grabbed the two ends of the "hook" and squeezed together to stop grommet from falling again. After that, easy to pull through.

Honestly, even if you don't manage to get it out, it's not going anywhere

If you get it out, get the right grommet. Highway Stars or Kirban's are the only correct ones.

I use the dorman one. I install it on a spare intake and use a mini drum sander on my Dremel. I sand the inner diameter until the pcv valve fits with minimal effort

I used the Dorman one too. I used water with dish soap on the PCV valve and it went in with minimal effort.

    OK, I confess.
Once. I locked my keys in my car...

Cost me $45 for the "Lock-n-Pop guy".
