Help with 03 Tahoe 4WD CV Shaft Disassembly

    I'm looking to replace my boots....but this shaft doesn't seem to have the c clip where you can release it. :( Are the replacement shafts a different design. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    @OHC JOE says your nick name is "big money" lol

    Are the boots ripped? If so you might be better off getting a reman joint. Once the road grime and grit get in the joint, it wears it out. A reman joint also comes with a lifetime warranty

    Normally the wire clip is on the end of the shaft. Try tapping on the joint with a hammer

    I’m sure you can’t just replace the booth. The ones I’ve seen that came apart have lugs on the end that fit into the other side which also have lugs. We’ve always replaced the axle.
