I agree it’s hard to go wrong with a LS emgine, especially for a driver. Keep in mind a buick 350 is a bolt in swap.
Just to add to Sean's post if you want some old school motor with new school feel follow/talk to Sean, he'll show you how to turbo the snot out of a Buick 350 and make some awesome power. He's also done some cool stuff with other brand motors too.
Just getting started on a Buick myself. Whatever the theme is if your kids are involved it's priceless. Great memories for them. Congrats.
