Can anyone tell me where I can get New hood springs for my '67 GS? Mine are old and saggy from holding up that 500 lb. hood for the last 48 years. Thanks in advance.

The partsplaceinc has them. No idea what the quality is like. I just saw them listed for 12 bucks each.
    Good luck John

I have a nice set of hinges and springs off a 1967 Skylark. PM me if interested.

I have a pair of spring, but I would also check the hinges with the springs off. They may need repaired. Jim at Tri-Shield did a set of 70/72 and they came out nice and tight and nice plating.

Would the hinges themselves have an impact on the ability of the springs to hold the hood up? When I lift the hood it drops back down about a foot and seems somewhat insecure (or at least I do with my head under it).

My hood hinges seem to be O.K. I think the problem may be that someone put the wrong hood springs on the car. You indicated that you have a pair of springs from a 1967 GS400. Can you give me some info on them? Length of coil? Number of coils? Diameter of coils? Overall length of spring? End hooks offset 90-degrees? Thanks for any help you can give me.
