I was wondering what happened to you.. guess now i know..

No worries about the motor, let's get you into a AA program.. got to be tons of them over in WI..

Admitting you have a problem is the first step.

I am surprised, you don't seem the type, but I guess you really never know about folks. Bucy had the same issue years ago, he got in the program and licked it, been sober for decades now. You can do it too.

Having been to your house, seen you car stuff, and met your wife, your a lucky man, you just forgot that.

Get better bud, we are all with you here.

You're a good man, Guy. Lots of people count on you and appreciate the blessings you bring to them: https://v8buick.com/index.php?threads/dang.353495/#post-3018555

And, although a lot of these fellas don't know about your racing days, you were always a hero of mine back on the fast things with tracks and skis, even if you were on the "wrong" brand ;):D....Couldn't believe when I joined this forum and saw your user name pop up :) . Give me a hollar and we can just B.S. about Rotaxes and V-max 4s anytime.

My son had the problem when he was in the Marines. They sent him to detox, then he went to AA. That's 25 years ago, and still stays away from it. It can be done. Recognizing you have a problem is GREAT step forward. Seek out whatever program works for you. Were all rooting for you.

Thanks Jim and Lucas. Jim, thanks for responding, Kinda was worried about all that stuff at your shop. Thanks for safe keeping it all. It may help me to sleep tonight without drinking. It certainly does suck. I've been through the 28 day program but it didn't help much. 90-90 day next for me. Again, WTF? Never did any drugs. but this vodka thing is killing me. I need help.

Well, let's trade that alcohol problem and put a praying monkey on your back.

You got some good friends near you that can help directly.

And you have some of us who can directly apply for help from above.

Realize your may be isolated in the battle, but you are not alone, nor forgotten.

And, I am available via PM, and phone if it ever is desired.

(That goes for anyone who ever needs an ear)

Guy, I’m here if I can help. I don’t have any training but 52 years experience with alcohol, anxiety, depression and suicide of 3 generations of men in my family. It can be managed and repaired and some here can attest to that. I have looked at it as a “project” like a restoration or renovation or any of our projects or careers. It’s all about management. Make progress when you can, and bring it the pros. When needed. Again if I can help reach out.

Heavenly Father - I pray that you will heal our Buick Brother Guy Parquette from his addiction to alcohol. Strengthen him with the power to overcome his weaknesses. Use him and his struggles to help others for their good and Your glory. I pray that you will give Guy a new outlook on his life and not allow Satan to continue to create fear, anxiety, or any other negative thoughts in his mind. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Here to say it's not easy, although it can be conquered.
Call someone or all of us before you hit bottom.

66electrafied Just tossing in my nickel's worth

Admitting there's a problem is the first step towards recovery. I beat my demons 14 years ago now, after I got picked up for a DUI (I beat it) and was forced to rethink my life. Like smoking, I stopped cold turkey, convinced myself I'd had enough and I can always get some more if I wanted to. I just never wanted to and I still don't.
Seek out help, it is out there, life's not worth tossing away on a bottle.
    You can do it.
