Guy, please consider getting help with your withdrawal and detox. The first week is very hard and it’s not easy. Please ask your family to help you get help with this challenging situation.

ok. my wife is picking me up. don't remember but did fall this last weekend. blood all over and over 28 stiches in my head and else where. guess they told me I almost bled to death. WTH the is wrong with me?
living room was a mess with blood all over. My wife found me. One of many ambulance rides. I must say, they are very comfortable. but can't afford anymore.

I hope you're getting help! I think you need to be in a supervised facility. For the record .08 BAC ( blood alcohol level) is generally over the legal limit. .27 - .30 BAC you're flirting with death. Think about being off 270/1,000 somewhere in your engine...

Guy this is very hard to watch. While I don't know you or claim to, it's like watching a car crash in slow motion. I want to look away, but I can't. Praying isn't going to do anything if you won't at least try to find a detox and help yourself.

Perfect, then you know how to get thru this. Once you get the poison out, then you can work thru keeping the addiction at bay.
Keep your head up Guy, you CAN beat this.

Guy, Vodka doesn't give a damn about you, but the people in your life and on this forum do. What are you going to choose? Unless you have a death wish, get your ass to a detox center and then rehab. I'm not going to apologize for the tough talk. At this point you need to hear it.

I used to take a medication that would make me get sick if I drank a drop. I can look up the name if you are interested but it was great for me. You literally couldn’t get drunk while taking the pill because you would instantly get sick. This got me through the first 6 months after quitting and then I stopped taking them and been fine for a few months and then willpower and family support carried me further

    Guy
After reading all the messages in this thread I wanted to chime in.
Back in the nintys my wife was diagnosed with MS her way of dealing with it was vodka.Memorial weekend and the next week 1999 she was in the hospital with pancreatitis, I never heard of it before and even thou they brought up her drinking I didnt get what had caused her to be so sick .
2001 same weekend back again same thing this time I got what was causing it. Tried all I could to get her to stop.I failed
June 2002 she died at 45 It wasnt until then I realized finding the hidden bottles how much she drink. After that the family fell apart.
Almost 20 years later I havnt seen my step daughter in several years, Dont know where my stepson even is lost track years ago.

I think no one blamed any one else but every one blames their self for not doing more and couldn't face one another.

If you dont get help it will destroy you but also your loved ones more than you can imagine.

Well Guy, Still willing to talk with you but I don’t see that happening where you are here near the end of your life.
You keep saying alcohol isn’t a drug like that makes it okay, well it is not okay and anything that alters your mind from alcohol to acid is a drug.
I had an older Vietnam vet I became close friends with back in the day at our now gone Shuffletown Drag strip. Blew his ass off the track with my 70 stage,3:64 4 speed car. Became very close friends as I was the FIRST person in the 1980’s to thank him for his military service (he literally broke down crying). He hated his son & totally wrote him off because he was a “druggie”. Well they BOTH (father & son) had addictive personalities, they just got wasted in different ways.
His place was near my work and when I didn’t hear from him (called ALL the time normally) I would go over to his house & make sure he wasn’t dying or dead inside.
Later in his addiction he started being hostile or calling up crying about zipping up teenagers he had told “You will be alright” in body bags the same day in the MASH unit he was in.
I listened to all he needed to get out and comforted the best I could.
He would tell me I was only friend and wanted to give me all sorts of stuff he had which I refused. I just wanted him to get better.
One month he called more wasted than normal & when I tried to talk he didn’t like my “interrupting “ and said he had “two new friends!” a father & son that loved his Cobra, and Hemi 4 speed cars etc etc. He got pretty nasty so a month or two went by before I heard his name again.
It was my wife saying “Honey I think Dan is dead!” I looked at the obituary and raced over to his house.
Mailbox was the first bad sign(overflowing) and his front hooped door handles on the house were jammed with final notice papers.
All the drinking had weakened the heart muscle so he had a massive heart attack in his den all alone except for his 3 dogs locked in their with his corpse.
We are talking weeks so I try not to think to far into it.
He use to plead for help also but never got better either.
I have been praying at least a couple times a day hoping you will find God or some other miracle to save you but all I am hearing is “I was so drunk” or “I was in another ambulance “ or “I got all these stitches and almost bled out” etc etc but I have heard zero desire to stop and most messages are impossible to read because you are so wasted when you type them.
Now you know I like you and we have had lots of fun on the board here but like they say in the Shawshank Redemption “You need to get busy living or get busy dying”.
I cannot even imagine the toll this is taking on your family.
You have got to hit bottom first & don’t know where that is for you. For some people like my Vietnam Vet buddy it is 6ft deep in a grave that not one person showed up to mourn at (I called the funeral home for info& they told me there was NO one).
I do NOT want to add you to that list so I hope you or someone slaps the **** out of you to bring you to your senses!
Blow all that crap out of your body, never touch a drop again and use your story to help others before you are too dead to do it. DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NO MORE “i need help” crap YOU HAVE GOT TO TAKE THE FIRST STEPS AND I AM DEAD SERIOUS!!!
    DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
