Sand paper, water, elbow grease, sounds cheap to me! Not sure if you had someone else do it.

Are you talking wet sanding primer or wet sanding the clear?

wet sanding is for primer - color sanding is done after final paint.

    OP will need to clarify

Sand and buff a complete repaint on a Skylark sized car, I charge $500-$600 on average, depending on the quality of the paint job.
To spot sand(dirt nibs & runs, not texture) and polish, about half that; to cut something flat(no peel)add about 50%

I remember when they painted my black GS, the owner of the body shop told me it took 2 guys 9 hours to color sand and polish my car.

LOL, it's my customers that are cheap, I charge what the market will bare.
After 30+ years of practice, I can blade the dirt/runs out, sand three times with 1000/1200, 1500,2000, buff three times with compound, polish and glaze on most cars in one day.
Materials cost less than $50 to do a job, how much can I really charge for a days labor?

p.s. I'd rather do 2 black cars than 1 butternut yellow

$500 doesn't seem too little...I could get one done in a weekend, and be happy with the $400 profit:Do No:

Finish wet sanding with 3000 grit Trizact on your DA and you will barely have anything to buff.:TU:

:gp: What he said ,Trizact is already polishing the paint. The old hand sand is a waste of time.
