In search of one, if you have one please let me know.

I purchased one some years back that was restored but recently learned the thread pattern on the shifter handle was turned down to a different size and I’m unable to use the factory shifter ball.

    Any help appreciated thank you!!

Do a helicoil or have insert made to fit the shifter threads and knob thread.

I have looked all over for a place to see who can make me and insert so the knob can be adapted onto the shifter handle. To date I am still unsuccessful on finding such a business. I even took it to a machine shop who told me they were unable to make a Helicoil or an insert to work for this application.

At this point I would just rather have an original handle without having to do anything to it to get the shifter knob to fit.

What size thread is on it now?

You could try this outfit: Hurst-Shifters Online LLC . Fort Mill, SC. I ordered some parts from them, and found their service and turnaround to be very good.

If you can't find anything to make it work , why not use something like JB weld ? In construction we sometimes use Hilti Hit and it is approved for seismic. Threaded rod goes into concrete with the product. So if you are thread on thread should be even better. If it can withstand an earthquake. Just sayin.

How much do you want for your handle with incorrect threads?

Figures you finally got a nice one right after getting the one from me. Isn't that how this almost always seems to work? I have my share of those parts & some were quite expensive to begin w/.

I appreciate you staying in touch and giving me the opportunity to buy one from you.

Got a call a few weeks back from a member who offered up a restored handle.
