I have a 70 Skylark frame with it's original posi underneath. I would have to pull the cover to check the ratio which I can do if you are interested. Where are you located?
Very limited gears available for buick 8.2 rears. None are reproduced at the time. There were no 3 08 gears for 8.2 buick. Either 2.56, 2.73,2.93, 3.23, 3.42, 3.64. Good luck in your search. You would be better off getting a 71-72 corporate 8.5 rear.
I can build you whatever. I can build an 8.2” Buick 2:73 posi or I can build an 8.5” 10-bolt with whatever you want. Located in Erie,PA

Date 3-30-61. From what I have read this was made by Auburn gear. I removed this from a working differential and replaced it with a Yukon unit (kind of a long story, but it worked well). It’s in nice shape and has the pin for the axles and ring gear bolts with it. This had a 3.08 gear on it. I also have a 0.260” ring gear spacer to go with it.
Does that have the bigger bearing on the left side for the 68-70? Most of the new units have a larger hub on both side,so you can install the SET 36 on the driver’s side and an LM102949/LM102911 in the passenger side.
I have come to grips that a full bolt in 8.5 may be the best route. I waited too long and missed a few 8.2's that would fit.
The original 8.2” posi units were the cone style. Most of them can be tightened up by re-machining a few internal piece. However,if they are badly worn or broke, they can’t be fixed because there are zero replacement parts.
