I am sorry to say that I am resigning the position of Chairman of the Buick Performance Group. It has been a great ride with it ups and downs. I feel that I have done the best I can to keep this Great Club going, although the past few years have been trying. I will still be available to consult with club issues as we are in a transitional process. This is a decision I do not take lightly but have talked with my Wife and Family and as this has become almost a full time job I have been neglecting my new business and my Family. I have made a great number of friends thru this Club, and I will maintain those friendships. I hope the Club can continue and will help any way I can but I cannot devote my self full time anymore. I wish everyone one the best and will still be part of the BPG Family and do everything I can to promote Buick's and Fun.

Sean, say it isn't so. I am sorry to hear that, but understand. It's not an easy job, and does take time, especially as help is always thin. You have done a GREAT Job over the past years.
There was a recent thread about what's happening to Buick clubs. What's happening is there are lots of people who want to be members, but when it comes time to do some work to support it they all disappear. I was the assistant director of the NE Chapter for many years. Spent a lot of time on club stuff. Don't regret it. Last year at the nationals John and Nancy did the normal club lunch. Nancy was sick, and Johnny was doing his best. Myself and Chris Sworik stepped in and helped. I was amazed at the how much some people took advantage, left their garbage for someone else to pick up. People expect to be catered to because the pay some dues. None of the people who run the NE Chapter get anything. They all pay dues like the rest of them.

So I hope the BPG survives, but am not optimistic based on what I see from the Buick community. I hope I am wrong.

It's a sad day indeed Sean. But family foes comes before anything else.

Hope to see you at Yards picnic on Aug 1st.

I hope someone steps up. For the club's sake.

Sean, I know you have been struggling with this decision for quite a while. When your hobby turns into a job that isn't fun as it takes over your free time and gets between you and your family, it's time to set it aside. Thanks for taking that golf ride with John Schmidt so long ago and stepping to the plate. I'm sure we'll be seeing each other as you rip up the '67 with the 455 transplant at various venues. Take care of your family.
