I'm not loving the new forum layout

Im all for JW generating revenue from this site (and have been preaching he should do it for years) but ...

... I dont think the vendor section and V8 Classified/auction section belong at the top of the board layout.

Its a pain to have to scroll down past them every time - especially when I'm viewing the board from my Blackberry or other small-display portable device.

I'm not too happy about it either, but obviously enough members aren't donating to keep the board running, so he's got to get funding somewhere. I've seen what this kind of stuff can do to a board, i.e., no links to sites that aren't listed as vendors, etc. It kind of shuts out the little guy. Mike Trom is one example. But JW has to do what he has to do. I'll continue donating anyway just because this is literally the best Buick site out there.

As for the forum "order' and looking at the site on small screen devices, I never go directly to the individual forums. I always just click on the "New Posts" tab at the top of the screen. That way you've only got to scroll thru the new posts, and not each and every forum to see what's going on. Save the individual forums for the laptops or desktops.

 

Hopefully you are not serious. " A pain to scroll down " Come on I'm 70 years old and still have plenty of energy to do a little finger work :laugh:

I just hit view new posts and never click on individual boards unless I'm starting a thread. That way everything comes up and it's less navigation.

Not lovin' it either. How much is it to place such a ad? I haven't seen any thread about a $ shortage or anything. What did I miss? o No: I don't understand why they can't be under a vendors section, instead of the eventual mile long list it will end up being.ou: I guess I'll just click on "new posts" :idea2:

 

Also not digging it. I've even gone so far as to attempt to get Ad block plus to kill it.

I don't browse by "new messages" option.

 

I don't like it either. Surely the list of advertisers will grow.
