This is the no opt. '69 convertible GS that is getting a '87 Grand National motor. I was going to paint it black like all the other GNs, but pulling the fenders and seeing the orginal paint (51) it is beautiful. Almost has a green sheen in it. This is the car that once had a true "Lucky Charms Green" you can see in the 3rd pic. :puzzled:

I am wondering how close new T-B-Poly paints could match it? Would todays matching paints be base/clear or one coat? Any brand (PPG or ?) get me closer to the orginal than others? :Do No:

Anybody have pictures of '69 Twilight Blue Poly in the sun?

I used PPG base clear on my 69. Try getting some mixed and spray it out and compare to the original. You will like the twilight blue.

    Dave,

That is sweet. It is decided, I will go blue.

Were they able to get the paint right the first time or did you have to go back? Any other pictures?

That car could be my twin. :puzzled: White top, parchment buckets, auto, 400,....it would be interesting to see how far off our VIN's are. I dropped my gas tank and found my tank sheet, but it is not mine. It is off by a few

    Thanks for the pic!

My car was built in Jan 69 as a gold car. I painted it blue as mixed by the PPG code. I compared the color to an original chip that Alan had at the BPG show. The match was almost perfect
