    In a word.. Junk

    Buick specific 71-74 Q-jets are not that rare.. I probably have 10-15 of them... plus a whole bunch of 70 carbs.. so there is no need to buy junk and have to fix it.. yet..

    This was posted somewhere else a while ago. Absolute junk yes, but having spent 5 years at RPD in the 80's, making a Qjet from scratch is no small feat! There are so many parts, some of them minuscule, and even RPD outsourced many of them.

    Mark Nortcutt has thousands of good cores for rebuilds, he bought out a major stockpile a few years ago.

    You get what you pay for. Every time. And who the $%*# wants a Chinese carb on their beautiful Buick.
