I've lifted plenty of bbb's. Including those that have a girdle and full filled with cement! Don't be scared!!

 

That's what I was dwelling on..
Also was thinking the AL intake casting might break at the loops around the bolts that mount it to the heads.

Just learned something! and iv'e worked in various machining and tool making jobs over the years

 

Tonight my dad and I pulled the 400 out. Put the donated torque converter in. Cut the exhaust pipes out(anyone wanna buy them?). Got the headers laying in ready.

We have a couple of items to button up on the new 462 motor before dropping in.

 

4 bolts on a b4b, no problem.
1 bolt hole letting air in! That is a problem.
Check all 8 holes. Pin size or larger.
Sneaky leak.
Easy to find & fix while it's near the work bench.

 

Should start Saturday, I'm hoping.

Got the exhaust installed. Thanks dad!
Got the car running today, (thanks dad!) but we have some more tweaks to make.

It sounds awesome, just how I'd imagine/want. Once the tweaks have been made I'll try to post a video of the motor running.

Not too sure about these street pro mufflers tho. The sound clip I heard before I bought them must not have the WOT sample!! Anyone else have these?

 

The exhaust system is only clamped together, no welds, sooo maybe if the seams of each connection were seal welded it would quite down more?

 

I prefer magnaflow

I have the exact same MagnaFlow stainless system on my 482 Stroker. With the MagnaFlow 14" case mufflers the sound was way too loud for me and it also droned at 2000 to 2500 RPM, right where I like to cruise.

So, I removed the MagnaFlows last month and installed a pair of Walker DynoMax Super Turbos with the 20 inch case and wow! Nice mellow sound with no drone when cruising and a real growl when I nail it. Love the new sound.

I remember looking at these photos when I was shopping. I'll take a shop look at those mufflers next year( when I have money)
