I did not add any. I have one 89 type bulb in the stock front left and right positions. The driver's side is a bit blocked by the HVAC conduit. I only have 2 in the front, and 2 in the rear (sail panels) They are very bright.

Thanks Larry, that will be the route I am going to take. Does anyone know which type of lens (pointed / flat) is supposed to be installed in a 1970 GS 455 Stage 1? Currently I have both types installed (pointed gauges&speedo and flat tachometer).

Funny story I forgot to tell:
In order to keep the resistance at the connectors low I used electric tune-up spray. Some of it got also onto the board of the gauges. During installation of the cluster I disconnected the battery. With the cluster installed, but the dash still off I reconnected the battery to check if everything would work. It did, but when I switched on ignition, once of a sudden light smoke developed behind the cluster. You can not imagine how fast I was out of the car, under the hood and disconnected the battery. Couple of minutes minutes pause in my garage in order to calm down. So I unbolted the cluster again, just to slide it out a bit and have a visual check; nothing to see. So I decided to reconnect the battery and give it another try. Smoke again. This time I squezzed my head in between the windshield and the cluster, trying to see something. Nothing to see, but I got a whiff of the smoke into my nose - and it smelled like the tune-up spray. So what happened is, that the resistors for the gauges heated up with ignition on and the smoke developed. Did some cruising today, no more smoke :)

What type of lenses depends on production date. The pointed lenses were replaced in the 70 model year because of glare issues. Do you really care what is supposed to be in your car? Get the flat lenses.

In this case no, but all three should be the same and stage1restoration has both types.

The upper ones are polarity sensitiv, the lower ones are not.

Then get the ones that in your opinion, look better. Like I said, they changed the lenses to flat mid production because the pointed lenses had glare issues.

Do they make dimmable LED dash bulbs? I like the bright LED interior lights but the dash LED bulbs seem too bright.

Well, as I stated earlier: The bulbs I installed dimmed fine, when outside ot the car connected to a variable powersource. The do not dimm at all, when installed in the car. I am not an electronic guy, but it might have to do with the low resistance of the LED. It might be worth a trial, to keep just one regular bulb (for testing), or install a resistor in the curcuit of the bulbs. Maybe an electronic guru can jump in here with real knowledge.

They use such little voltage it would probably be a pain in the *$$ to get them to dim.. You would most likely have to cut into the harness and install a voltage resister. ???

Has anyone done the instrument cluster lights yet?

Looks MUCH better than incandescent bulbs.
Are those the cool white, or warm white?

I provided links to all the bulbs I bought on Amazon. Look at post 107. I did every bulb in the interior except the map light.
I replaced the trunk light and license plate light as well.

I want to change the licence plant bulb as well.

Do you have a picture of how it looks at night?

No I do not, but I can tell you it is very bright. You can see it on the ground.

I used the same bulb for the under dash, trunk and license plate with good results. I got like 20 of them so I used them everywhere I could.

I have some leftovers as well.

I'll swap it out next week.

My climate control panel has been changed from black to woodgrain, but at night does NOT light up like yours. It is just a wash of light, the lettering is not clear or legible, the light just washes through the woodgrain. What did I do wrong?

The bulbs probably fell out of the holes. The heat from the incandescent bulbs frequently warps the plastic near the holes where the bulbs insert. I used a bit of RTV to hold them in the panel.
