No, Mine is broken off flush at the intake ,Tree is gone, Thanks for the information, I just wanted to have the vacuum lines going to the right locations, Thanks again
It's a gas mileage and performance killer. It is part of the Transmission Controlled Spark emissions system. You can eliminate the entire system and just run one vacuum line from the carburetor to the vacuum advance on the distributor.
Larry, The picture that you posted looks like the one from the chassis service manual, which was printed before the 1970 model year, and shows a 1969 motor, or at the least a pre-production 70 motor. All the vacuum trees I have seen for the 1970 model year cars had a pot metal tree that was sunk into a brass base. I used to find/sell these to the guys, and at one time had a whole box of them. When the guys would buy them I would make sure the dates on the vacuum trees matched the dates on the cars. Duane
Yes, 70 chassis manual. Never saw one as mine was long gone when I bought my car. Would like to see a correct picture if someone could post one.
This is the only one I could find that I still have. It's a "potmetal" one & not plastic. You can see in the pictures the top nipple is slightly bent, but not cracked. I have no idea of original application of this one.
