I guess I'm uneducated......Why LT instead of ST for trailer?
I Googled ST and LT tires and it said ST is heavier duty with a thinker sidewall....what am I missing? LT better for higher speeds?

LT tires are truck tires Made for human occupied vehicles. Basically build under stricker guide lines.

ST tires have a thicker sidewall. Reason = they are radial and when a dual axle trailer is backed up in a tighter angle ( literally jack knifing ). The tire could come off the rim.. Its really not a HD tire its a tire that is built cheaper.

You can read all the reviews on line on how great about how happy people are with their STs. Reason why most of the ST reviews come from new to RV world and cant back up a trailer.

So you are saying use truck tires not trailer tires on a trailer?

97% of ST tires are made in china.

LT but not all are made in USA......

Boils down to Ford VS Chevy..... Just be careful what you buy... Also want to make one thing clear Im just another internet opinion....

But for what it Worth in the good old Biasply days all trailer tires were truck tires. Its radials that bleeped up the tire market..
