I was just curious because that reminds me very much of a car that was done locally, sold at BJ years ago to Henrickson Motorsports and after that no idea where it went. The color is awesome, platinum mist in 72 had a hint of green...and not many stage 1 4 speed cars out there, esp 72.
Great show... Nice folks, beautiful cars! The Muscle Car Superbowl ! It was a pleasure to meet you all, sorry we missed Dano.. A special thank's to Ajesh for the invitation.. Happy Thanksgiving to all.. Regards.... Frank
Nick you almost tricked me with your photos as you slipped that black '67 Chevelle in as the last picture and it took me a second to realize it was not your '67 GS. They both look the same, right? I don't remember the last time I saw five '67 GS400s together. Maybe 25-30 years ago at the GS Nats there might have been five together but they were not all as stunning as the '67s at MCACN. Thanks to everyone for your bringing your cars. I also don't think I've ever seen 12 show quality '72 GS Stage 1s together. This was probably a first. Thanks guys for making it happen at a premier event.
The silver 72 Stage1 Belongs to Paul Haddock from Charlotte NC. Paul has owned this car for many years. Built at Framingham. Not a 4 speed Scored Gold at MCACN this year. .
Thank you guys (Dano) for posting all of the pics!! Missed Gold by 4 Points! . So we knew going into MCACN that getting Concours Gold on a car that runs 11 Second ET's was going to be a huge undertaking but man we were sooooo close. If we would have put our Spare Tire and Jack assembly in the trunk we would have gotten the Gold! Anyways, it was a great show and I believe we're still the 1st Buick to score Concours Silver and still be able to run 11 second ET's. We're actually shooting for High 10's with our new motor but we'll probably need a tricked out transmission as well. Thank you to everyone that stopped over and checked it out. We were in the "Back Yard" so to speak this year and I believe a few guys probably missed it. So for anyone that is interested in checking out this car I will be updating the website with a BUNCH of photos soon. For now, here's a YouTube video my wife took for anyone wanting to check it out > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7yZxfBc8pQ
What a great experience this show was to me. I want to thank Ajesh for inviting me to the show and it was great meeting all the Buick crowd and making me feel welcome.
Here’s my dumb video. Didn’t care to record anything until Sunday morning. That’s the only time I had to do it with everything else going on. Spent the entire day on Friday moving cars. 10+ hours on Saturday judging.
Thanks for the video! And as always it was nice to see you guys again and swap restoration tid bits! You do great work and it's nice to be able to swap information! Together we are helping bring these cars back to their glory! Carry on! I subscribed to your channel . . . . and anyone else reading this should subscribe also! It helps keep the Channel going! .
Thanks! Same to you, Todd. I also shared an interesting tidbit with Rich Johns on the hood spring relating to the 70 GS hood. I'll never assume that a hood with a pop-up spring isn't correct for a 70 anymore.
Great show this year. Great sampling of Buick Gran Sports and Stage 1 cars. The shop had three Mopars with a Daytona (1000 point) for unveiling and judging on Saturday.
Sometime around April, the 70 hoods started appearing with the stamped area for the spring but no cutout for the spring itself. Very late 70 cars ended up with the spring.
