So how many of you will be in your local Memorial Day Parades? After 2 years of canceling the Parade, 1 for covid and last year for heavy rain, we are in our local Parade. The VFW will be pulling our dragster on the 1.5 mile route. I'll post a few pictures Monday. The local police are escorting me to the starting point. Same officer that came to the door at 1am with the Marines when we lost Steven. He loved Parades especially when respect for our Military was on display. I'm waiting to hear if I can be running as we pass the house. So good luck with the weather and all your Memorial weekend events. Have a great weekend

Memorial Day parade’s were a big deal in our household growing up… still is. A few times my uncle would make the trip from Illinois. So it would be my my father, WW2, my grandfather, WW1, and my uncle, Korean War, all marching together. It would make local news. Serene playing Taps in the background and gun salute at the cemetery. Made me tear up. Still does
That was a good time. New perspectives of the town when you are just about sitting on the ground while going through town
We attended our Hometown Memorial Day parade with our Boys ( Stepsons ) with there Boy Scout Troops, Always enjoy it.
