It'll be interesting to see what it goes for. Love these '77-'79 full sizers.

5 to 10k is where they go even if mint.

It's funny, when I first laid eyes on these cars back in late '76 I was sick to my stomach looking at a downsized Electra. I was shocked and NOT awed by the size and style of it. Now I like it! Kinda like the '68/'69 GS's, they've grown on me. That's a nice car for sale, although not the best color combo for an Electra IMHO.

    Yah, color not the best.

Those were the start of GM generic engines, this appears to have a Buick engine?
Had a 77 LeSabre with an Olds engine, also a 79 Bonneville with a Buick engine.
Wonder if can be driven before auction. Color looks OK on this model.
    Nice riding, driving cars.

Yep, Buick 350 judging by the accessory placement and the distributor.

Yes it is a 350. It moves along just fine. I have seen the car. I like the color combination a lot myself.

I like the color combo myself, looks like a very nice car.....shall we play "The Price is Right"? In $50 increments so none of that $1 over your competition stuff? My guess is it'll go for $3450.

Hahahaha......hey, no insider information!....alright, not what it will go for, what it will get bid up to. I stand by my $3450, but I know it's worth more.

    Jim,

Have you seen the black Regal in person? How nice is it? I have a friend who is interested in it, but likely won't make it to the auction.

Chris—I will see it tomorrow and Friday. I could call you. If it belongs to the owner of the auction or his friend, both of whom own a chain of dealerships, you can forget getting a deal. They own all but a few cars in the auction.

So many of these were in light green, light blue, etc, this is actually a rather nice combination. 77 is my least favorite of that body, I would prefer a 78 or 79, the little tweaks they made to styling were certainly a plus. 77's are know to have a weak A/C system, it was fixed for 78, that was across the entire full size GM line.

If you look at the pictures of the regal, and many of the other cars, you can tell they were taken in the same location. That location is the the driveway of one of the two dealers that own 95% of the cars in the auction. So, he is looking for the dollars bracketing the Regal specific ad.

Thanks Jim, I was thinking the same thing regarding not being able to get a deal. He contacted them to see about buying it pre auction, and that wasn't an option. I think he is going to wait until after it doesn't sell, and see where the bidding ended (would be great if you could check on that) and then contact them again. He is also a member here and I will make him aware of this thread in case he wants to contact you.

    Thanks, Chris

77 is my favorite. The AC on this one will freeze you on a hot day.

The Regal belongs to Mike Leith and is generally stored at a defunct dealership building in Zebulon, N. C.

The same Regal was in at least one or more of his prior auctions and did not sell. Our belief is that he has lowered his brackets.
