I’m in the assembly stage of my restoration and before installing the new windshield I’ve been told there’s some missing parts (Other than the dash pad). Does anyone see any noticeable missing parts or ones that needs to be replaced?

There's nothing missing,..that will keep the windshield from being installed anyway

I think there's supposed to be a windshield stop somewhere around the cowl and maybe missing grills that go between the center speaker if those ever came from the factory...or I might be wrong.

You would be wrong,...the stops are still in place and there are no grills

Only thing missing there is the bezel around the vin,..which can easily be snapped in after the glass is in,...theory thing you may want to do if it's not already in is the headliner front windlace and the only reason that would be an issue is the glass guy does piss poor job and gets the urethane too far in

Got it, thanks for clearing that. I will be using the butyl tape when installing the windshield and could add little urethane around just for that complete seal.

I would recommend against the butyl tape,..these new windshields aren't contoured correctly,...butyl tape requires that it fit correctly for a good seal,..jmo

I also don’t suggest tape. I looked into this after repairing my windshield channel. Modern urethane is safer and less likely to leak. For sure it is hard to remove later and a poor install could be messy. Call a few body shops to find a good glass guy. Last but not least....trust hugger.

I'm about to install front and rear glass also. New glass guys want to use urethane, they say the can set depth using wood blocks ?? However an aborted install on the rear window Ie found you can't set the depth of the glass and the mouldings won't sit properly plus if you use any kind of blocks logic says you'll compromise the seal. Now I'm thinking using the tape with a slim layer of urethane for any glass irregularities. I've read here on other forums 3/8" tape for windshield and 5/16" for rear window to get right depth. Any thought or ideas I'd welcome. Thks
