Just a reminder that the Gopher State Chapter of the BCA is putting on the Spring Extravaganza this Sunday May 2nd at the State Fairgrounds.

I'll be there with my '69 GS California, look me up if you're there! I plan on getting there around 8AM and walking the swap meet for awhile then kicking back in a lawn chair near my car for a few hours.

This is the first big show of the year in the Mpls/St Paul area and is usually very good!

I'm going to be there for sure....I love this show. Although last year is was cold and windy. I'm still waiting to see another 75 Lesabre ragtop there....

It was a good time-100s of great cars and 1000s of folks enjoying a MUCH better day that the weather guys forecast. Good job Gopher chapter!

This show was great! Weather was wonderful (in the 50's). Some awsome Buicks (and other makes too) there. Hugh swap meet, but I didn't find what I was looking for. Need some LeSabre scripts for the rear fenders on my 75, the trunk lock cover and the center caps for my rally wheels. Wife bought me a Lesabre keychain. What a great way to start the show season in Minnesota. Way to go !!

    Good time!

My dad and I got there at 8AM and parked the California at the end of the Buick row about four down from a real nice GSX. I had the only '69 GS there, which was hard to believe!

We walked the swap meet for over 3 hours and didn't see everything! I picked up a poly bushing set for the rear control arms for $30 and a 15" Buick rally for $5.

There was a real nice '68 black GS California that sold in the car corral for $8500.

Spoke with a guy in front of the Registration building who had dropped a 455 in a hatchback Apollo. Said he moved the motor forward 2 1/4" so the exhaust cleared the steering. Looked like a nice project.

  6. It certainly was a beautiful day for a swap meet. I spent the day here in the garage on my back... would have loved to get out for the swap meet, but getting my car back on the road is #1 priority! With a little luck, I'll have it out of the garage this week, and post some pics with the new stance. :) (15" tires/rims and taller rear springs)

    Dave,

I'll have to post a pic of what I did on my day off on Friday. I put four new Cooper Classic II whitewalls on the California. P235-70-15 in the rear and P215-70-15 in the front on Buick ralleye rims. The rear tires are 28.8" tall and the fronts are 27" tall. I then changed the oil without having to jack up the car!! The best part was driving along the freeway keeping up with traffic at 70mph with the engine singing at 3000rpms. With the 3.23 rear gear and stock 26" tire that were on the car it only ran 60mph at 3000rpm before!

That should make the drive to Salem a little easier!

  8. IF I can risk the drive to Salem, I'll have easy going to, with the 245/60 15's, and 2.56 rear end! Could be just me going, but I'm not sure about trusting the 350 on a road trip anymore.
