Looking for the retainer hardware that holds the door and quarter panel reveal molding on. This was an option on the 70-72 Skylarks. The stainless molding were on the tops of the doors then had stainless molding that was on the quarter panels that matched to the roof molding. Also looking for the correct plastic retainer clips that hold the vinyl top molding on. NOS or original good condition parts, I will make it worth your wile.
Thanks for your follow up. I have leaned more into a GSX conversion. The moldings, vinyl top, etc., The front spoiler looks to be a easy find the rear is a bit tuff!
I have those moldings with push in clips someone wanted them never heard back so put them back up in rafters might put them on car I'm doing not sure
I talked to Todd on the upper reveal molding clips and he has no source for them. Could someone get me one to submit to a supplier so we have an idea on one that will work? I need a complete set for the doors on my 72 GS 455. These plastic retainers are the same type as the vinyl top moldings (not sure if the size is the same). I would be interested in new or used at this point.
On molding retainers, one number come up 7731589, not sure if that was for the top divider or the door upper reveal molding.
The top molding clips are bigger than door I sent some to a member that was going to do write up on the different clips and have not saw any post yet maybe soon they will get it done
I have part number 9850 and 14642 ordered and then will be ordering 10617, one has got to work! I will have the two first set I posted tomorrow and will report back.
I have NORS (Auveco) door clips (both types). I only have one NORS set of the quarter panel clips but am going to find an alternate and put complete kits together.
What Auveco part number did you come up with on the door retainers? 9850 and 14642 were to wide. thinking of trying 11354 (23/64) or 10318 (22/64).
I don’t remember the part # off hand but the correct ones are no longer available from Auveco and the repros aren't made exactly as orig.
Do you have the old Auveco part number or GM number? I may need to find a used set or just drop the idea of adding the reveal moldings.
I ordered a set of 10318 Auveco (22/64") GM 8933059, 4492962. We will see! The molding looks to be 20/64" (5/16")
I may have some but am not sure. Does anyone have specific pics as I'd hate to get hopes up and then dash them with the incorrect part. They are leftovers in the box I received from the previous owner. I will not be using these on my car. Love to find someone who could use them. I believe I might have a full driver's side moulding as well if that's of interest.
I don't have any to post pictures. I just know we only have suds for clips and these are obviously more narrow vinyl top clips.
I have NOS clip sets for the doors, but haven't gotten around to finding a suitable replacement clip for the quarters yet. PM me in interested.
