Your a braver man than me! No way in the world ID keep a record of expenses of a build ha, I'd puke everywhere. I refuse to wish you GLWS tho ha first time it hooks and wheels come up all the crazy thoughts of selling will disappear. That engine is making some steam 117mph with a dual plane is no joke.

As for the condition of the body, it is solid and wears it's factory sheet metal and presents as a straight car. Does not appear to have been in any wreck that damaged sheet metal. Repaint in the 80's, body work done before the repaint. The front firewall seams were resealed when I had it apart. I also applied phosphoric acid and painted all inside the cowl area painstakingly getting in all the hard to reach areas just to feel good that its going to stay cancer free.

The interior floor boards are solid and no rust.

Passenger side quarter has mud in it to fix rust below the crease behind the wheel, hard to tell how bad it is. A little bubbling is showing through. It is solid. Signs of power show in the form of bits of MIckey/Thompson tire fire.:Dou:

Drivers side quarter has the same repair, but looks to have fallen out over time. I applied phosphoric acid by spraying into it when I had the body off to slow down any more cancer. Looks to have had tire scuff on it long before I got it. It is the worst part of the body but not getting any worse. It also wears bits of cooked Mickey Thompsons :TU:

Drivers fender has some cancer showing through behind the wheel under the crease. Again, I applied phosphoric acid by spraying into it when I had the body off to slow down any more cancer.

Passenger side shows same type of cancer but more matastasized. I applied phosphoric acid by spraying into it when I had the body off to slow down any more cancer.

The rear windows show rust pitting but there are no holes. There are no leaks. When I had the window out, I wire wheeled it to bare metal, it is solid, and phosphoric acid applied primed and painted.

The rear trunk panel has a little issue, cosmetic, but it shows rotten along the bottom section where the seal lip is. I wire wheeled it, phosphoric acid applied and painted before installling new seal.I have a section froma donor 70 to include with the car if interested.

There was no rust or rot holes in the front windshield pinch weld area. The area was cleaned, primed and painted before 'I installed a new windshield.

The body gaps are not bad, only ugly one is the drivers door to fender. I have not tried to fuss with it and could be a result of when i had the fender off and the door off to replace a hinge I did not realign it properly.

Both bumpers are in very decent shape, shine and present well as does all the stainless trim bits.

MarkO, where did you get the 15 x 8 steel wheels and what is the back spacing on them?
I bought a pair a while ago online from Jegs but they don't look right on the car. They stick out too far not tucked in like yours. I'm looking at a set now but the back spacing is 6 1/2 inches which maybe too much?
I know my front tires are to narrow, maybe that's why they don't look right.

The Name escapes me right now but I'll try to recall who made them and confirm the backspace this evening.

    Speedway made the wheels

    Cheers!

Yes,It is a handful and it will test your balls to tap into it on the street; it's instant permagrin on any face while testing your faith in the Almighty! I Can't wait to run open like a dog on the track again...soon. I smell the taste of low 11's...N/A..
    Cheers!

The manufacturer just escapes me; not Wheel Vintiques. These are GM A Body - 4-3/4" lug pattern, 4-1/4" back space. Lovely.

    Speedway made the wheels

Those would work, mine are not the same since they are solid welded inside not like OEM. Speedway made them.

You can do a 10 rim on our 70-72 with a 5 5/8 backspace Ive seen 295 50 15 on a car I think no trimming was done.

I spent some time and adjusted the front bumper and it looks pretty good. It was straightened out better than I had originally thought.
