Just did my first complete service on John Deere 2032 sub compact at 175 hours. no wonder the dealer wanted $600 to do it. 7 filters including the air and water separator 3 fuel , 2 hydraulic , engine oil and air filter.
Not yet around my area. Had temps in the low 60's this afternoon, and falling to about 19° overnight with a winter storm warning. Might wake up to snow drifts tomorrow morning. Oh well, it's typical Manitoba spring conditions.
Neighbors probably think I'm nuts (even more so), but it's supposed to snow today and it was about 55 at 8 p.m. last night so I couldn't help myself. Enjoyed a couple tall Bud Lights while making laps
Forecast for Monday morning through Tuesday evening here calls for up to 6 inches of new snow!! My mower can rest for another week or two, but I should test fire my snowblower tomorrow. We desperately need the moisture anyway.
No mower action here yet but.... the grass is starting to green up and our spring peepers are in the ponds. I'll take the yard and do a spring fertilizer this coming week to control things that don't belong.
Mowed twice, put fertilizer after 1st mow. Just glad to have some grass after reclaiming yard from complete woods. Dogs have a yard this year.
I said goodbye to my trusty L 120 John Deere garden tractor yesterday. It was a 2003 model and had north of a thousand hours on it. It needed the intake manifold pulled to fix a vacuum leak, then in the morning the starter breathed it's last. I wasn't going to spend more then $100 for a new starter on a backup tractor. I have a new E 140 and really don't need two garden tractors. Most of the parts that I keep in stock will also fit the 140 so I'm good to go. I pulled the canopy and the satchel weight mount and put it out by the street. It lasted about 10 minutes.
I used my snowblower today to clear my driveway. Part of my lawn currently has about one foot of fresh snow. Looks like it will remain through next weekend, if the local forecast is believable.
Neighbors cut their grass this afternoon. You've heard then expression " my head is in a fog" ? Well, my allergies kicked into overdrive. My head is in SOUP. Thick heavy CHOWDER. GO AWAY allergies.
Well, on Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning (Don't really know...) the mobile home park owner cut the grass at HIS portion of the neighborhood... HACK, HACK, cough, cough, HACK. Time for Benadryl. Nitey-nite y'awl !!! That was my story for Sunday's activity. From 11:30 AM until About 7:45 PM Nitey- nite. I don't recall a F'n thing. I can't deal with it any more.
We took the summer stuff out of the shed Saturday, put the snow blower in the shed, fired up the mower and decided to mow. Mostly for picking up leaves and twigs , it looked really nice when finished. It snowed about an inch Sunday afternoon. Bob H.
