In my research the Taylor are now owned by Pertonix and they will probably if not already be made off shore. The Edelbrock and FAST wires still show made in USA. I guess we just have to stay informed. To be honest I just ordered 3 sets of the Jegs 8.5 wires made in USA for $40. I am going to try them.

Yes, but you need a cap with HEI style terminals.

I’ve used these Summit wires since this combo went together in my 72 convertible, about 13 years ago. No issues whatsoever. I use Moroso 40’s on the 530 Tomahawk in the X. I might have a set of slightly used black Taylor Pro Spirals that were installed just like the Summit wires are (small cap, factory looms). If anyone is interested, I can see if I can find them.

Is there a brand on those Summit wires Bob?

No, sir. Maybe a call to Summit could answer that. I think they are very nice wires, at a price point too.

Did you have to assemble them like those?

I put 2 sets of the Jegs 8.5 Power wires together and the wire and boots are very good quality. The true test will be how long they stand up. They are made in USA and 1/3 the cost of the MSD off shore wires. Thanks for the input.

Don’t let that scare you. Matter of fact, that is a plus, because there is a fat chance of finding a good set of wires, with the proper boots, terminals and length. Get your length, put some dish soap on the end and in the boot, push/pull through boot far enough to work comfortably, strip wire to the core leaving 1/2” or so of the core exposed, bend the core, install terminal and crimp. There was a thread recently on a good terminal plier-type crimping tool. Practice on some old wires or leftover wire from a cut first.
