I haven't said much about the convertible since taking it down from the "For Sale" listing. But, first I'd like to say thanks to some very caring folks on the forum who always provide the help we need to move our projects along. Thank you Jim, Tom, Michael, Loren, Walt and Larry for your help with issues and needs along the way the past 6 - 8 months. You guys are great and I truly appreciate all of you! I've been working on the convertible since November at the home shop and have made some great progress. The engine (hold over from the Reynolds Gran Sport with only after 6 miles driven at the Reynolds 95th back in 2010) was found to have coolant in the oil pan. Found that after installing the engine in the convertible. Stripped it down sent it out for testing. Pressured out at 30lbs two different times. Had a fresh rebuild on it and now back in the car. Sent out and received all the chrome replating, new dash pad came in last month, all the Lengendary interior stuff arrived yesterday, thousand spent with all the suppliers and now I seem to have all that I need for assembly. Fenders, grill and headlights going on this week. Guys, thanks again!
Yes it will. I really wanted it when the OP was selling it partially restored but it just wasn't in the cards.
The dash finally came back from the shop all prettied up. Installed it during the week. Fully restored seat belts add the icing on this cake. Not so conventional gauge set, but, it can be moved around so we'll see how I feel about it once I drive it next week up to the top shop. All cosmetics from here, pinchweld trim, door and qtr reveal trim, etc.. Assembling the vent windows today, hate doing those, but, part of the final stuff going in.
Erik Gardner's exhaust system makes the 401 sound awesome! I forgot how strong this engine sounded and ran in the Reynolds Gran Sport.
